Ayala Systems Technology, Inc. (Ayala Systems) together with seven (7) member companies of the Philippine Software Industry Association (PSIA) came together in a joint pavilion showcased world-class Filipino software development and IT talent during the 18th Software Development Expo (SODEC) from May 13 to 15, 2009 at the Tokyo International Convention Center (Tokyo Big Sight) at Tokyo, Japan.
“PSIA through the sponsorship and support of government, private sector and other non-government organizations champions SODEC participation since Japanese software & IT services capture the biggest slice of the pie of the entire Japanese IT market,” explains Ma. Cristina Coronel, PSIA president.
According to the official SODEC website, in 2007 the value of the entire Japanese IT market including hardware, software and IT services was US$132.19 billion and this is expected to reach US$145.96 billion in 2012.
“Japanese investors are quite keen in knowing more about the Philippine cyber-corridor and our next wave cities, so as part of our government’s support to the ITO sector, we [Commission on Information and Communications Technology] allocated Php1million for continued SODEC participation”, CICT Commissioner for CyberServices Monchito Ibrahim shares.
The Philippine Department of Trade and Industry through the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions, the Board of Investments and ASEAN Japan Center together with the Japan External Trade Organization and the Center of the International Cooperation for Computerization are played key roles in providing the venues for special seminars and the welcome reception for Japanese customers of outsourcing services and investors.
“Ayala Systems, through ASJ, Inc. – our subsidiary office in Japan, is committed to providing world class IT services in the Japanese market”, says Mr. Jun Lasco – Ayala Systems, Technology Services Division, Director. “We are proud to say that we have established a solid client-base and we are continuously growing the business not only here in Japan, but likewise in the United States, Sweden, Germany, Singapore, and soon in Europe”, adds Mr. Lasco.
